Description: Probably a border fragment of a tunic in casette design; Coptic weaving; Design: probably depicting the Visitation of the Virgin in repeat design: Mary is usually depicted in a blue cloak; some letters, probably in Geez, the official language of the Coptic Church; wool on linen; rib weave, no slanting of the weft; very little embroidery; Colours: crimson, indigo, yellow, green and black; mounted on plain rib weave woollen material.
