Description: Five figures in period costume sitting in a boat, sail on the left; boat sailing in Table Bay with Table Mountain and five sailing boats in the background; in the boat from left to right are: a member of the Molteno family, artists Ruth Prowse, Irma Stern, Cecil Higgs and Nita Spilhaus. John Dronsfield, a contemporary of the above group once remarked that South African Art was a ship with Ruth at its Prowse and Irma in the Stern; signed and dated bottom right: Irma Stern 1946; framed.
