Description: One of a pair of armchairs, Renaissance style: highbacked; carved crest and stretchers, probably carved in Zanzibar; 492/1 differs from 492/2 as the stretcher is carved with a flower motif in the centre and at each end; fluted scroll ends to arms and crest; back and seat upholstered in maroon velvet with metal stud borders; tasseled fringe around the apron.
