Jar Description: Jar bulging outwards to waist and inwards to a wide mouth; flat base; no footrim; exterior with moulded design of a rocky landscape with a cock, 2 deer and dragon amid trees and plants; under the mouthrim is a border with Ju-I sceptre-head design; the interior and top of the mouth rim is unglazed; the exterior is covered with a brilliant turquoise coloured glaze with brown streaks. Chinese. The prototype is Ming but this specimen in 19th century or later.
