Jar, export ware Description: Porcelain jar with blueish-white glaze and polychrome enamel decoration; design consists of 2 large medallions containing a depiction of a female figure riding a unicorn with an infant in her one arm, a boy holds an umbrella over her head; the space between the medallions on both sides of the jar contains the Chinese characters for double joy; background is filled in with flowers and scrolls on a turquoise background; border above base has a yellow lotus petal design against a red background. Chinese export ware.
