Description: Large martaban (storage jar); Borneo type; reddish stoneware; no footrim; concave base; 5 dragon head holders for cord on upper part of the shoulder; part of design is applique and part is incised. Design of 2 dragons persuing 2 flaming pearls, geometric borders. Glaze is splashed dark ochre covering the whole interior and lip; base and interior are unglazed. South Chinese exportware to the Philippines, to the East Indian Archipelago, especially Borneo. Made in the Kwantung province.
