Description: Jar ballooning out to waist; 5 vertical ears; buff coloured stoneware body with blackish iron glaze covering the top half of the body.Group F: see Dr Eckert's identification notes under Historical notes.Dr Eckert suggests that this specimen is a fragment or a kiln waster as the neck is missing altogether and the glaze is peeling off. It must have been buried in the ground or under water, the broken off edges are smooth again. Southern Chinese provincial prototype; Yuan or later?
